Residents Want 24-Hour Police Coverage

CAMBRIA TOWNSHIP, Pa. —

Residents in a local community want to make sure their 24-hour police force continues.

Right now Cambria Township supervisors and the police department are in arbitration.

Some residents urged supervisors at a meeting Monday to continue a full-time police force in town. They cite a rising population, three major highways and several shopping areas as reasons for the around-the-clock police coverage.

Many of the residents present at Monday's meeting agreed to work with supervisors to find a solution.

Supervisors could not talk publicly about police coverage because of an upcoming arbitration hearing on Jan. 31.
