Blair County —
A group of fifty retired Altoona firefighters is suing the city, claiming they're not getting all of the benefits they should be. Years ago, a policy was adopted to give retirees a cost of living adjustment, but it wasn't made retroactive, so it didn't include all retirees. The group is asking the courts to interpret a statute that dictates all retirees must be treated equally, which would require every retiree to get a cola or cost of living adjustment.
