Road Crew Response To Storm

Cambria County —

Road crews in Richland Township say they were surprised by the intensity of the storm. Officials say, since it rained the majority of the night, they were not expecting the large hit of snow, which put them slightly behind for morning rush hour.

"You know, hind-sight is always 20/20. We didn't expect it to come so fast. I mean it started about a quarter till seven probably. Before that, it was a mixture of rain and snow. After it came so quick, we weren't quite exactly ready," says Rian Barker, the Richland Township's Public Works Director.

Road crews had to continually go over the main drags to keep with the snow, before they could even go near the side streets.
