Route 219 in Jefferson Co. closed due to fatal accident

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. —

Route 219 in Washington Township, Jefferson County is closed following a fatal accident Wednesday afternoon.

Crews responded to the scene along Route 219 near Brockway Honda. 

Police said a man driving a van was killed. 

Authorities said the van, a car and a tractor trailer were involved in the accident.

At this time state police are unsure of what way the vehicles were traveling. 

The Jefferson County coroner was called to the scene. 

State Police said that the drivers of the car and the tractor trailer escaped without injury.

Route 219 in Washington Township, Jefferson County will remain closed until the accident reconstruction is complete.
