Rural Clearfield County Homes Get City Water

GOSHEN TOWNSHIP, Pa. —

City water is coming to a rural area of Clearfield County thanks to a state grant.

The $77,000 grant will extend Clearfield water lines about 15,500 feet.

The extension will provide clean drinking water to residents along Goshen Road.

The line will branch out to include Baney Settlement Road, Jerry Run Road, Brown Hollow Road and a private road.

About 50 water supplies in this area were destroyed by abandoned mines.

Local officials said the waterlines could be extended with a minimal impact on water rates.
