Sales of PSU Memorabilia Staying Strong

By Rich Wisniewski

CLEARFIELD, Pa. —

Play at the Plate is a sports memorabilia store in Clearfield, Pa. It has everything a local Pennsylvania sports fan could want. From Steelers to Eagles, it is here and selling. The store also sells lots of Penn State merchandise, but given the year Penn State has had, six news wanted to find out how the sales were going this football season.

"We've had some special orders and type of thing and we're pleased people are coming back," said Dick Rowles, owner of the Play at the Plate store.

In short, Rowles says he's happy with the sales of his Penn State stuff.

When the NCAA Sanctions were released a few months ago, Rowles told six news that Penn State merchandise sales were steady at that time. However, September would be the real test, since it's the start of football season.

"We were concerned going into this year, but there are a lot of dedicated people out there so we feel good," said Rowles.

Overall he expects sales to remain strong, the only thing that would hurt sales now, is if the Lions don't play so well this year.
