STATE COLLEGE, Pa. —
The attorney representing Jerry Sandusky told 6News in an exclusive sit-down interview that the sentencing date could be delayed and an adopted son that levied accusations in the middle of the trial against the former coach could be in hot water.
Joe Amendola told 6News that Sandusky’s adopted son Matt told authorities that he was never abused by his father when the Attorney General’s office launched it’s investigation but he changed his story after sitting through the first day of testimony.
“He actually not only sat with the Sandusky family the first day of trial, but actually commented negatively on the testimony,” said Amendola. “I believe it may have been (victim) four on the first day of testimony, about how ridiculous the testimony was and the fact that he didn’t believe that his father had abused any of these men when they were kids.”
Amendola told 6News new revelations have surfaced since the fallout from the trial.
“We’ve recently come into information that Matt may have committed certain acts which have really disappointed Dottie and Jerry, which I don’t want to discuss right now, because they haven’t decided how they want to handle it,” said Amendola. “It could be a rather serious matter for them.”
Sandusky is still incarcerated in isolation inside the Centre County Jail.
Sentencing for the former Penn State defensive coordinator convicted of 45 charges of child sex abuse related charges was expected in late September, but could be pushed until next month.
