Sandusky's attorney claims prosecutors conducting secret background checks on potential jurors

By Gary Sinderson

Bellefonte, Pa. -- It's an emerging issue in the Jerry Sandusky case.

As 6 News reported Wednesday, defense attorney Joe Amendola is concerned about the process of selecting a jury pool.

We obtained court documents that Amendola plans to file.

He claims prosecutors are conducting secret background checks on potential jurors raising questions of violating privacy rights.

600 Jury letters were mailed out to prospective jurors.

According to the paperwork prosecutors are asking such questions as political affiliations.

Amendola also suggests prosecutors are digging for other personal information at taxpayer expense.
