Saturday Night Live Pokes Fun At Johnstown

Rep. John Murtha recently called Western Pennsylvania racist and redneck. The comments were picked up by most major national networks. Now Saturday Night Live, got its turn and poked fun at the people in the area.

"Earlier what I said about Western Pennsylvania being ignorant, I was misquoted, I meant more backwards," said the Murtha impersonator.

The actor playing Murtha continued and said the people in Western Pennsylvania did not understand the modern world and were racist.

Nearly two weeks ago, Murtha told a reporter Western Pennsylvania was redneck and their racist views would make it hard for Senator Barack Obama to win the state. For some, the skit and other reports are not sitting well. They don't approve of the message that is being sent to the nation about Johnstown. Others say they agree with the congressman.
