Somerset County —
A Windber Middle School teacher has been charged with killing a woman while driving drunk.
According to police, Frank Blair Jr. of Windber had a blood alcohol level of .197 Sunday, when his car crossed the center median on Route 56 near Windber and killed Erica Boni of Johnstown.
School officials say Blair has taught a middle school computer class for the last 4 years and that he's been an exemplary employee, helping with weight training after school hours. School officials say they've received several calls from concerned parents and students.
They say Blair is on a personal leave and that disciplinary action will not be taken until the investigation is completed.
A preliminary hearing is set for March 1st.
