SCUD Attack Reaches 15th Anniversary

JOHNSTOWN —

It was 15-years-ago Saturday that a SCUD Missile attack during the first Gulf War hit a U.S. barracks in Saudi Arabia.

That attack killed 28 soldiers back in 1991. Another 99 soldiers were wounded. 13 of the dead were members of the 14th Quartermaster Detachment based in Greensburg, Pennsylvania.

Two of the victims were from right here in our area: Sgt. John Boxler of Johnstown and Specialist Beverly Clark of Armagh.
