MOUNT UNION, Pa. —
Authorities have suspended the search for a man who jumped into the Juniata River, after the second day of combing the murky waters and walking the banks in Mount Union didn’t turn up any clues.
A Mount Union Police officer said she saw a man walking on the Route 747 bridge around 2 a.m. on New Year’s Day.
When the officer activated the cruisers lights, the man reportedly jumped onto a concrete barrier and rolled off the bridge and fell into the frigid water.
Officials identified the man as 20-year-old Julius Rogers and shifted the operation from a search to a recovery efforton Monday afternoon.
