Second Murder Trial Of Former Comic Book Store Owner In Question

The second murder trial of a former Somerset County businessman remains in question and could be delayed.

Michael George, formerly of Windber, was scheduled to be tried on Oct. 12 in Michigan on charges he killed his wife 19 years ago.

According to the Tribune Democrat, the trial could be delayed as both sides await a Supreme Court decision about whether the prosecutor's appeal should go on.

A jury previously found George guilty of murder, but a judge threw the conviction out based in part on new evidence.

George's attorney claims the evidence points to another killer. George has maintained his innocence, but the jury voted unanimously that George was guilty of killing his wife in their Michigan comic book store in 1990 for the insurance money.
