Second suspect surrenders in connection with Johnstown shooting

By WJAC Web Staff

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. —

A second suspect has surrendered in connection with a home invasion and shooting incident that left two people wounded last weekend in Johnstown.

Thursday morning, Jason Maines surrendered to city police. Maines was identified as one of three men involved in a confrontation at a home on Highland Avenue in Moxham.

Johnstown police chief Craig Foust said Maines was to turn himself in on Wednesday night, but he did not.

His surrender follows that of another suspect, Charles Meyer, who gave himself up to police on Wednesday. Meyer is now facing a list of charges.

A third person is recovering from a gunshot wound in the hospital.

Police said the men shipped a package of marijuana to a house they thought was vacant, but it wasn't. They said the shooting happened when the suspects confronted the people living there

Maines' bail was set at $100,000.
