Showcase For Commerce Coming

Cambria County —

The Showcase for Commerce doesn't start until Thursday. But it's gotten so big, the walkway in front of the War Memorial will even be packed with some of the equipment being shown that can't fit inside.

Tuesday afternoon workers were busy getting the floors laid and the corporate booths up in the War Memorial. 1,500 people are expected to represent businesses here and at the Pasquerilla Conference Center showing their product and networking. Some of the local companies represented here will be Lockheed Martin, KDH Defense Systems, CTC, and Kuchera Defense.

This year 5 companies from outside the United States will show off their product.

Peter Chirillo of Johnstown Area Regional Industries is helping coordinate the event. He tells Channel 6 News, "First timers to Johnstown are pleasantly surprised because they find that we do have the workforce, the skills, and the abilities to meet their needs. And many of them always talk about how nice the area is."

This Showcase for Commerce will be open to the public on Friday. But when it does open this week, Napoleon Street in front of the War Memorial will be closed.
