Sisters, Ages 6, 7, Die In Indiana County House Fire

A state police fire marshal is searching for the cause of an Indiana County house fire in which two young girls died.

The fire broke out at a home on North Stewart Street in Blairsville around 7:30 a.m. Sunday.

Kirsten Tolley, 7, and her 6-year-old sister, Katrina, were sleeping over at the home and were trapped inside.

Firefighters said they tried to reach the girls but were turned back by flames. The family of three who lived in the home escaped.

The county coroner said the sisters died of smoke inhalation.
