Sisters Put In Probation Program For Animal Cruelty

Cambria County —

Two sisters charged with hundreds of counts of cruelty to animals last year have been placed in a special probation program for first-time offenders. Erma and Rosemary Gillin of Jackson Township were charged after dozens of dogs, birds and a cat were seized from their home last year. They said the animals were neglected by their previous owners and that they took them in to care for them. The judge also fined each woman $300.
