Winter weather advisories start Tuesday for the following counties: Cambria, Somerset, Indiana, Jefferson and Elk.  Areas west of I-99 will pick up 1 to 3 inches of snow, but everyone will experience a much colder day.

The National Weather Service in State College says  snow advisories are in effect until Noon on Wednesday.

Locations the Allegheny And Laurel Mountains.  Accumulations are expected in the range of 2 To 5  inches.

The impacts of the snow will cause limited visibilities and slippery travel.   Previously wet roadways may also become icy as the temperatures falllLater Tuesday.

Winds will be from the west 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.  Temperatures in the upper 20s.  Visibilities will be below a half of a mile at times. 

You should be cautious on bridges and overpasses when driving; this is where slippery spots develop first.

Then Wednesday, snow showers and blustery.  Many areas in the Laurel Highlands could pick up several inches of snow.
