Soldiers Concerns Heard

Johnstown —

Some soldiers from the 103rd Armory Regiment on Walters Avenue already came home without serving overseas. They met with a Pennsylvania military official to talk about what happened in Texas.

The problem and confusion this summer was that the military didn't know until the soldiers had left that some were short a few months of serving the full time needed in Iraq. They were all given the opportunity to volunteer to finish their call-up after their time was up. About 50 soldiers decided to come home. However a lot of what happened was heard through the grapevine in Johnstown. Colonel Harry Coulter met with the soldiers thanking them for their service. The Colonel tells Channel 6 News, Im here to get a little information as to whats going on and whats happened to them in their past at their training site. I want to get that information so that I can pass that on to our higher headquarters and we can support our soldiers.

There is a meeting Sunday, August 14th, for soldiers parents and military officials at the 103rd Armory in Johnstown this Sunday to talk about the problems at Fort Bliss, Texas.
