Some Residents Searching For Water Amid Drought Conditions

Because drought conditions have caused concern about water availably, some homeowners are literally digging for help.

Jim Long, manager at Somerset Well Drilling, said people can call experts to drill for wells, but residents should also conserve water.

Because of the dry conditions this summer, some reservoirs -- like the Blough Reservoir -- and wells have come close to completely drying up.

Long said some people are hunting for natural water springs, which he said "aren't real reliable."

He said the bottom line is the region needs consistent rain to get out of the drought.
