The city of Johnstown was awarded $250,000 to build a river walkway surrounding the tech park in hopes of sprucing up the Kernville area.
Further, in Somerset County, the DCNR awarded $500,000 to enhance the Quemahoning reservoir to enhance whitewater boating.
Organizers hope both projects will boost tourism and the economy.
