Somerset County Company Helps Chilean Mine Rescue

For nearly a month now, 33 miners in Chile have been trapped underground. Chilean leaders have said they will have to stay there for at least three to four months but leaders for a Somerset County Company think they can beat that deadline.

At Center Rock Inc's warehouse located in Berlin Somerset County signs with the words "33 lives" show the workers dedication to saving the 33 miners they have never met.

"We really have had men working 24 hours a day since Thursday," said Brandon Fisher, President of Center Rock Inc.

Leaders for the company told WJAC in an interview they have the tools and the know how to save those miners.

"Most of us on the team that is going down there we pretty well drilled this hole in our minds," said Richard Soppe of Center Rock Inc.

This would not be Center Rock's first rescue mission. Back in July of 2002, the company provided equipment and manpower to help rescue nine miners stuck in the Quecreek Mine.
