Staff Shortage At Area Ambulance Station

GALLITZIN, Pa. —

There's a shortage of volunteer Emergency Medicial Technicians at Gallitzin Area Ambulance Station. Officials said they have only seven volunteers on staff and that's not enough workers to cover all shifts.

According to regulations, ambulance stations should have Emergency Medical Technicians available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to work with paramedics scheduled.

Gallitzin's license expires in July.
