State College Plans New Complex

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. —

The Downtown Development Committee in State College held a groundbreaking ceremony along the 100 block of Fraser Street Wednesday for a new movie theater and condominium complex.

The former municipal building, which is 99 years old, and the medical arts building on the block will be demolished in the coming weeks to make way for the new buildings.

The Cinema Center will be a 10-screen theater, and the condo complex will hold more than 50 units, which will be owned, not rented.

The DDC said the new complex should be open in about two years.
