State Inspector Orders Public Safety Building Improvements

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. —

A state inspector examined Johnstown's Public Safety building and found five violations.

The city manager said while the violations are not major they are already working to get them up to code.

The violations include: mold found in several locations around the building, unsanitary employee bathrooms, lighting, heating, and ventilation problems in the prisoner processing room, damaged ceiling tiles, and a missing cover for a light electrical switch.

WJAC contacted several city council members who said while the issues appear to be minor it won't be overlooked.

According to the Department of Labor and Industry inspection report, city leaders have until April 18 to bring the violations up to code.
