Storm Causes Circus Tent To Collapse; Injuries Reported

SEWARD, Pa. —

At least a dozen people were injured after a tent collapsed at a Westmoreland County circus during a strong thunderstorm Thursday evening.

A WJAC-TV news crew at the scene in Seward reported that a tent from the Louis & Clark Circus collapsed, leaving one person seriously injured.

The circus was being held outside of the Seward Volunteer Fire Department.

Officials told WJAC-TV that there were about 75 people under the tent when the storm blew through just after 5:30 p.m.

Most of the injuries reported were minor, officials said.

WJAC-TV was working to talk with fire department officials and witnesses.
