Straight Line Winds Knock Trees Down, Cause Power Outages

SPRANKLE MILLS, Pa. —

Straight line winds knocked down trees and caused power outages in Southern Jefferson County.

The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for the county Monday afternoon. A tornado never touched ground, but residents said strong winds came through the area for less than a minute.

"This time of the year these types of storms are very common in our area," said Tracy Zents, Jefferson County EMA Director.

Some homes in the area had minor damage.
