Strattanville man found guilty in Clearfield County burglaries

By Brittany Boyer

CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa. —

Jerry Lee Ritchey Jr. of Clarion County was found guilty on four counts of burglary and other charges Wednesday afternoon.

During testimony, the prosecution stated that Ritchey, of Strattanville, broke into several commercial businesses between July 20-21 last summer.

Most of the businesses he targeted were along Route 322 in Clearfield County. He also broke into the municipal building in Bradford Township.

During testimony, witnesses told the jury that they were able to link Ritchey to the burglaries by placing a GPS tracking device on his vehicle.

Officials said the GPS device was not the only way they were able to pin Ritchey to the burglaries.

Authorities were able to retrieve evidence from a shoe print. It was later determined that the same shoe print was found at the locations that were burglarized. Through surveillance video, authorities determined that Ritchey purchased the shoes at a Walmart store.

District Attorney Bill Shaw told 6 News that it took the jury a short time to deliberate.

Wednesday afternoon, the jury found Ritchey guilty on all four counts of burglary.

Ritchey will also stand trial in August for solicitation of murder. Ritchey is accused of trying to get an inmate to kill his ex-wife and her boyfriend.
