Students Vote In Statewide Mock Election

Department Of State Sponsors Educational Program

DuBois, Clearfield County —

The Pennsylvania Department of State held its 2004 student mock election today. It's geared at educating students about the political process, and fostering excitement to get involved and vote. Schools across the state used an identical ballot that allowed students to select their choice for President and some state officials. The ballot also included several questions about what issues are most important to youth. Students at the First Baptist Academy in DuBois also had a referendum vote on whether to change an item in the school's dress code policy. The proposal passed.
