ELK COUNTY —
An early-morning accident in Elk County claimed one person's life and sent a man to the hospital.
State Police said around 6 a.m. Sunday, for an unknown reason, a car lost control on Rt. 255 in Jay Township and crashed into a tree.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The passenger was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.
Anyone who witnessed this accident or stopped before emergency crews arrived is asked to call police at 776-6136.
