Suspect arrested in Johnstown bank robbery

JOHNSTOWN, Pa —

The man police believe robbed a bank on Strayer Street in December is in custody.

As of Tuesday afternoon, police knew who they were looking for, it was just a matter of finding him. It didn't take them long to track him down.

Police needed help finding Aubrey Brown in December when they said he walked into the First National Bank on Strayer Street demanding money from each teller. 

Police had very good surveillance to go off of. When Brown left the bank, he was caught taking off his ski mask and did not realize video is still rolling.

Police said he didn't show a weapon at the time, but still got away with nearly $2,000. 

The court papers 6 News received said Brown met with two people on Monday. Those two people are remaining anonymous, but will be witnesses in this case.

They said Brown's girlfriend told them he robbed a bank and had money hiding throughout the house he was staying in.

Brown maintains his innocence and told 6 News, "It wasn't me."

Brown is charged with two counts of robbery, theft and receiving stolen property. He is due back in court March 1.
