ELK COUNTY, Pa. —
On Wednesday, the Dickinson Center Inc. kicked off Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood Sweater Drive.
The nationally known drive has been going on for the past 10 years and has helped kids all over the country.
Dickinson Center Inc. is participating in the drive for the first time. Organizers said whether it is one donation or 100 donations, anything is helpful.
To make the kickoff event extra special, St. Mary's Insurance brought Mr. McFeely from the show "Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood."
On Wednesday afternoon, local kids stopped by to meet Mr. McFeely. They had the chance to have their picture taken and receive an autograph picture.
In exchange, students donated items to the program.
The Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood Sweater Drive is a nationwide initiative to ensure local kids have winter clothing.
Until Dec. 19, the Dickinson Center Inc. will be accepting donations on behalf of the program.
