Bedford County —
Bedford County tax collectors are fighting what they say is an attempt to cut their pay. County commissioners have proposed dropping the existing percentage pay system for tax collectors and switching to a flat payment per parcel. A Tax Collectors Association representative said the group may file suit to stop the switch. The commissioners are expected to vote on the measure next week.
