Teen Charged As Adult After Schoolyard Stabbing

A teenager is being charged as an adult after accusations he stabbed a classmate during a schoolyard fight.

Jeremiah Moser was in court Wednesday for a preliminary hearing stemming from the incident at Altoona Area High School. Police said Moser stabbed a classmate with a kitchen knife on Friday.

The Blair County district attorney said Moser is being charged as an adult because it's a case of attempted murder. The district attorney said the move is typical in such a serious crime.

School district officials said the stabbing was over a girl and said that Moser told classmates what he was planning to do.

The victim has been released from the hospital, and Moser's hearing had not yet started as of noon.
