SOMERSET —
Although the weather doesn't show it, today marked the beginning of the sweetest season of the year.
For the next six weeks, it's Maple Season 2006. Dozens of people came out to Somerset for the Annual Tree Tapping Day. Visitors were able to try different types of maple products including maple candy and cookies. An organizer believes Somerset County is the biggest producer of maple syrup in the state.
