Thieves break in to vending machines, cause about $1,200 in damage

ELK COUNTY, Pa. —


Pennsylvania State Police in Elk County are investigating two vending machine break-ins in Elk County.

Troopers said two soda machines at the Valley Farm Market in Jay Township and one at Benezette Store in Benezette Township were broken into. The crimes happened Tuesday night into Wednesday.

The thieves only got away with $180, but police estimate damages to the machines at more than $1,200.

Police did not say if they believe the break-ins are connected.
