Third Trial Held For Convicted Killer In Clearfield County

CLEARFIELD, Pa. —

A convicted killer is back in court for the third trial in the 1997 death of a Clearfield County teen.

Andrew Callahan was convicted in 1998 of killing 16-year-old Micah Pollock.

He was convicted again in 2007 but that conviction was thrown out after the Pennsylvania Superior Court ruled the jury was given improper instructions by a judge.

Officials said Callahan shot Pollock in the back over a dispute involving Callahan's ex-girlfriend.

On Wednesday, Callahan took the stand and told jurors that Pollock's death was an accident.

He explained that he tried to scare Pollock by pulling the trigger on what he thought was an unloaded gun.

Callahan's trial is expected to wrap up late this week.
