STATE COLLEGE, Pa. —

THON 2013 shattered records and raised $12.3 million, all to benefit kids with cancer.

Emily Evans, THON dancer, said, "Caring about what those numbers are and knowing, no matter what, all of that money is going to help those kids."

THON has raised more than $100 million for pediatric cancer in its more than 30-year history.

Lindsay Kirlin, of the Club Lacrosse THON group, said, “It puts everything into perspective, knowing how blessed we are and how much we have. How much we have to give back."

All of the money raised goes toward Four Diamonds families, many of whom were at THON. It’s an experience that makes those dollar signs so much more real for everyone involved.

Nicole Rafferty, of the Kappa Kappa Gamma THON group, said, "Them being able to live the benefits of THON. They were able to beat their cancer."

Many of those children are in the battle for their lives, and the money raised by THON goes to helping them in their fight –f unding cancer research, paying medical bills, and giving them hope that there are thousands of people at the Bryce Jordan Center who are with them along the way.

Kirlin added, "You send out envelopes and stand on that corner begging for change, just to help them. It’s really awesome. Everyone should experience it."

THON is the largest pediatric cancer benefit in the world.
