Thousands Attend State College Book Sale

The crowd almost rivaled the turnout for a Penn State football game. But this weekend in State College, they came for the books. Thousands filled the Agriculture Center on campus for the used book sale. Collectors and the general public can find anything from cook books to history novels. The American Association of University Women, which organized the event, says the money raised is for a great cause. "Our mission for AAUW is education and equity for women. And all money either goes to scholarships and grants for women or the local philanthropic women's organizations," said Suzanne Kerlin. And while books were sold at full-price Saturday and Sunday, Monday they're half price, and Tuesday a brown paper bag full of books costs only five dollars.
