Thousands Welcome Former President

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. —

Supporters of Senator Hillary Clinton on Penn State's campus said it was a long wait Thursday night, but it was worth it to hear from President Bill Clinton as he hit the campaign trail for his wife.

The rain didn't keep the politicos indoors. They counted down President Clinton's arrival in line like the rest of the thousands.

"I don't know enough about the candidates and I'm going to be voting soon. He's going to be talking about Hillary's campaign and it's important to hear about that," said Penn State student Mia Minichiello.

Other Penn State students said they were there to learn about Senator Clinton's platform, while others, who aren't even eligible to vote, were there to show their support.

An international student said in India, they deal with U.S. policies a lot and the U.S. has a global impact, so he wanted to hear President Clinton talk about his wife's policies.

High school student P.J. Monella said, "I'm here at 15 years old and I'm looking out for my future I think, by supporting Senator Clinton."

While Senator John McCain has already sealed up the Republican primary in Pennsylvania, some Republicans said they were there to see what Clinton had to say because it's not too early to scout out the competition.

Some of the Clinton supporters said they're disappointed that Senator Clinton wasn't there herself, but hosting her husband was the next best thing.
