Threat Evacuates Harmony Area School District

CLEARFIELD, Pa. —

Shortly after 1 p.m. Thursday, a Harmony Area School District student found a threatening message in a bathroom stall.

Immediately, the superintendent was informed, and he decided to evacuate the school, which houses all students in Pre-K through 12th grade.

State police searched the entire building with explosive-detection dogs, but after a couple hours of combing the area, police found no explosive devices and deemed the school to be safe.

Because students were dismissed about an hour earlier than normal, the school district used its automated message system to contact parents to inform them about the situation.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
