Three Supermarkets Close In Northern Alleghenies

DuBOIS, Pa. —

Three supermarkets located in the northern Alleghenies have closed.

The markets, located in DuBois, Brookville and St. Marys, were once owned by Penn Traffic.

Tops Markets took over the stores a few months ago before selling them to Giant Eagle.

The stores in DuBois and Brookville closed earlier this week.

Friday was the last day of business for the store in St. Marys.

It is not known when the grocery stores will reopen.

Giant Eagle officials said they still have not taken ownership of the buildings.

Until that happens, they can't comment on their plans for the stores.
