Johnstown —

The Johnstown Police Department has officers firing up department bikes of their own to make sure people are in good hands at this years Thunder in the Valley. Cops are working overtime and organizers, not the city, are footing the bill. The Johnstown Convention and Visitors Bureau is shelling out more than 15 thousand dollars to help pay cops for working overtime. Much of the time and a half cash comes from sales of official thunder merchandise, beer pubs, and sponsors. City police say they are thankful for the budget boost because it would take a big hit on their budget if they were responsible for paying for Thunder in the Valley overtime.
