RICHLAND TOWNSHIP, Pa. —
They have been working to slow the worries of an accelerator defect.
Toyota announced that next week they will release the information on how they plan to get things back in working order.
Letters will be sent to vehicle owners to schedule maintenance.
The recalled pedal manufacturer has been pin-pointed to narrow things down.
"Pedals that are affected are on vehicles that are manufactured by CTS. They've already redesigned the pedal. They're working on producing as many as they can. They production is going to be stopped on February 1 at the factories in North America, at five specific factories. They're redirecting pedals to dealerships," said Laurel Auto Group Vice President Matt Smith.
In the meantime, Toyota is telling vehicle owners with a recalled gas pedal, if you're driving, get to a safe place off the road and shut your car off. Then call your dealership. It's not safe to drive with a defective pedal.

Toyota said rental cars will be provided for drivers with a proven, faulty accelerator.
