BLAIR COUNTY, Pa. —

The case of a former Altoona city police officer accused of assaulting two men in a city bar could go to a jury Wednesday.

Duane Eichenlaub is on trial in connection with the 2010 incident. Eichenlaub is charged with aggravated assault and with trying to cover up the incident.

Wednesday's Altoona Mirror reported that, during Tuesday's testimony, a Pennsylvania State Police investigator said the case went to a grand jury after nearly every city officer he interviewed denied any knowledge of the bar fight.

Eichenlaub's attorney claims Eichenlaub acted in self-defense.
