Truck Tire Slams Into Cambria County Home

JOHNSTOWN, Pa —

A Cambria County resident got a scare Thursday morning when a truck tire slammed into his house as he slept.

George Beck said he was sleeping in the living room of his home on Cooper Avenue when a tire fell off of a coal truck and crashed just below his window. There were no reported injuries.

Beyers Trucking officials sent a mechanic to determine out what happened, but the cause was not immediately known.

Pennsylvania State Police told WJAC-TV truck drivers and truck companies are supposed to check vehicles after each work day.

Troopers also said make random truck stops to check lugnuts, tires, weight and anything else that could be a safety hazard.
