BROOKVILLE, Pa —
Two juveniles in Brookville are facing charges pertaining to sexual abuse of children after police say they were sending naked pictures.
Brookville Borough Police chief Ken Dworek said that this is something that they have noticed frequently throughout the borough.
As more and more kids get their hands on devices like iPads and cellphones, all it takes is a few clicks, and pictures can be sent in a matter of seconds.
Police said that two juveniles did just that in Brookville.
According to a news release obtained by 6 News, Brookville borough police and Jefferson County Children and Youth Services investigated a child pornography case.
Police said that through the course of the investigation it was determined that two juveniles were sending obscene nude pictures through iPads and text messaging.
Police would not comment on the age of the juveniles.
Dworek said that not only is this becoming a recurring incident in the borough, but also statewide.
Dworek encourages parents to monitor their kids' cell phones and other electronic devices.
The two teens involved in this incident are facing two counts each of sexual abuse of children.
