Rep. John Murtha, who represents the 12th District, and 5th District Rep. John Peterson voted in support of the plan.
Congressman Bill Shuster, of the 9th District, voted against it.

In a written statement, Shuster said his "primary responsibility has always been to protect the interests of the people who entrust me to represent them in Congress. Inaction has never been an option, but the plan proposed by Treasury Secretary Paulson should have never been the only option. This legislation is not guaranteed to solve the problem and could end up costing taxpayers more in the long run."
Murtha did not immediately issue a statement and said he would not do so until "we figure out what's going on right now."
