By Brittany Boyer

CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa. —

A Clearfield County woman is in jail after police said she shot her home care nurse in the head.

According to the criminal complaint Erin Schaeffer, an RN with Centre Home Care Services was at the home of Marlene Kenjora.

Kenjora lives in Osceola Mills, Clearfield County.

According to the criminal complaint, while visiting Kenjora, Schaeffer said they had an argument over Kenjora's prescribed medications.

Schaeffer told police that Kenjora appeared belligerent and her behavior was irate.

According to the criminal complaint, Schaeffer used a telephone to request a mobile crisis worker to respond to the home.

Police said while on the phone Kenjora fired one shot striking Schaeffer.

Officials said Schaeffer got in her car and drove for help.

According to the criminal complaint Schaeffer drove to a home a few houses down.

6 News found the family that helped Schaeffer when she came to the front door.

"She was putting pressure on her head and it was bloody all over herself and everything so I tried to get mom to help," said 18-year-old Morgan Woods.

Morgan and her 15-year-old sister Tessa were the only ones home when the victim came to their house.

Tessa called 911 while Morgan stood at the end of the driveway waiting for the ambulance.

Tshana Woods, their mother arrived within a few minutes.

"By the time they called me and I got up here, I helped with holding the pressure on her head wound talking to her, keeping her calm, but the nurse was awake and alert the whole time.

Tshana Woods is a registered nurse. She said she was able to use her background in the medical field to help.

"I actually had some supplies in my car being a home health care worker so I was able to get some supplies out and help put pressure to her head to stop her head from bleeding. Head wounds bleed alot," she said.

When medics arrived the victim was rushed to Altoona Hospital. Police said she was rushed into emergency surgery.

The medical surgeon told police they were able to remove the bullet from the left temporal portion of her head.

Schaeffer was last listed as stable but guarded condition.

Tshana Woods said she is proud her daughters were able to help.

"They are taught in their youth group that we're supposed to love our neighbors. They put their faith in action, kept calm and were able to deal with things correctly. They didn't panic, get stressed out, they kept calm the whole time and they were able to do what they had to do," she said.

Kenjora was charged with attempted criminal homicide among other charges.

Her bail was set at $1 million.

She remains in the Clearfield County jail.
