Uncertain Future For Two Area Projects

Centre County —

Private developers are on their own to come up with money if the new I-80 interchange and landfill project in Centre County are to move forward. Senator Jake Corman said Governor Ed Rendell called him Thursday vowing no state money would be spent on the controversial projects. Previous proposals used some state money through redevelopment and transportation assistance grants. Corman did not say if the Governor would consider state funding for another landfill 20 miles away in Clearfield County.
